ROGERS, Barbara Graham

-

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Barbara Graham Rogers in her 95th year. Barbara (beloved Auntie Baba to all) lived at Beach Grove Nursing Home in Harbour View, where she was beautifully cared for in her final years.

Barbara adored her brothers, the late Peter Rogers (Jessie deceased) and the late

Charles Rogers (Joyce, of Ottawa ON). Auntie Baba is survived by niece Martha (the late James McGrane) of NC and her sons Kevin and

Andrew; nephew, David (Lynne) of Stowe, VT and their children, Graham and Brittany; as well as niece Anne (Peter Magee) of Invermere, BC and her children, Amy and Will. Barbara was cherished by her Charlottetown family, Patricia Preston (the late Aggey Vakselis) and her older sister, Peggy (the late Arthur Holland & the

late Charles Williams) Williams along with her daughters Susan Holland, Bethany Holland (Barbara’s devoted Partner in Care), Mary (Les) and their sons, Pearson and Nicholas of Conover, NC, and Bethany’s daughters Hannah (daughter Luna), Grace, and Maeve. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Graham and Amy (Ellis) Rogers. Auntie Baba was born in Summerside, PEI on February 7, 1927, and as a young person, moved with her family to Charlottetown. Her lifetime career was dedicated to Canada Permanent Trust Company, eventually TD Canada Trust. She had a beautiful soprano voice and was a devoted member of the choir of the Kirk of Saint James, as well as an alumna of the original Charlottetown Little Theatre Group, and the PEI Welsh Society. Barbara was an avid knitter, making baby blankets, mittens, and hats for all – a tribute to her involvement with the Dorcas group. She enjoyed classical music and her astronomy club, where she took pleasure in the wonders of the night sky, sighting many eclipses. Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel from where a private family service will be held on Wednesday, September 29. Interment in the Sherwood Cemetery. To honour Barbara’s memory and charitable spirit, please conduct a random act of kindness such as spending some time with a senior and listening to their stories. Online condolences
