The annual pie fundraiser begins Sept. 27, just in time to stock the freezer for the holiday season. It runs until Oct. 12.

To place an order, contact a KRHS student or call the school at 902-887-2424.

Truth and Reconciliation Day is Sept. 30, and Oct. 1 is a joint staff day, so there are no classes on either of these days.

KRHS will continue to participate in the P.E.I. School Food Program with the “pay what you can” model to a maximum of $5 per meal. Sign up today and check out the new menu at www.peischoolfood.org.

The 41st annual KRHS Terry Fox Run was Sept. 22 with all funds raised going to cancer research.

Kevin Stewart and the student council organized this year’s event.

On Sept. 16, Jason MacNeil, education officer with P.E.I. Museum and Heritage Foundation, gave a presentation to the P.E.I. history 621 class.

On Sept. 15, the culinary 801 class walked to Somerset Ice Cream Bar to meet with the owner, KRHS alumni Harrison Duffy.

Every morning, Lori Allen, youth service worker, as well as several student volunteers supervise and prepare for the breakfast/snack program, which is offered free for all students daily, 8:15-8:30 a.m. There are smoothies, yogurt, granola bars and fresh fruit available.
