In Memoriams

ACORN, Alta Florence

-

In memory of a dear wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who passed away one year ago.

“You live on in our hearts and memories”

The family of the late Alta Florence Acorn would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our family, friends, and neighbors for their kindness to us after Alta’s passing. Thank you to all those who visited, made donations, sent flowers dropped off food, and sent messages. Every act of kindness was greatly appreciated, from neighbors and family who helped Robert

around the house with cleaning and cutting grass to longtime friends from the tennis community who planted a beautiful magnolia bush in

Alta’s memory. Thank you to Lousine from home care for all your help and support. Thanks to the staff of the Belvedere Funeral Home and our church family from

Winsloe United; Rev. J.D. Kennedy for leading the funeral service. Stephanie Cole, our organist, and Blaine Diamond for his beautiful solo. Alta loved her grandchildren R.J. and Chloe and would have been

extremely proud of the job they did reading scriptures

at the service. Thanks to Island EMS, the staff of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and especially the staff of the Q.E.H. Cancer Centre. Alta was a proud graduate of Prince of Wales College and Acadia University where she obtained a BSC. Degree in Home Economics. She especially loved teaching students at the Junior High level and taught for over 40 years in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island educating thousands of students. Often teaching two or

more generations from the same family. We truly appreciate all of you showing us

love and support during a difficult time.

Bob, Lorne, Jeanette, R.J., Chloe, and Shirley
