BLANCHARD, Joseph “Louis” Reid

The death occurred peacefully at home, with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, of Joseph “Louis” Reid Blanchard, beloved husband of Glenda Blanchard (nee Myers), of North Rustico, age 86. He was the son of the late Louis Reid and Mary Blanchard. Louis was the loving father of Gerard and Trudy, Mary Lou, David and Trish, Nick and Robin Garland, Bonnie and Ken Herrell, Lynn and Randy Herrell, Cheryl and Jason Lake, Randy and Kelly, and Chrissy and John Watson; and will also be remembered by numerous grand and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Terry and Rae Trainor, Pauline Trainor, Greg, Sharon Smith (Louis, deceased), Sheila and Blair Cutcliffe, Gary and Cathy Reid, Helen Reid and Gordon, Ann Reid, Roger and Jean Reid, Rollie and Shirley Reid, Doug and Doris Reid, and Kathy and Ken Nealon. Besides his parents, Louis and Mary, Louis was predeceased by his parents-in-law, George and Elsa Myers; and his granddaughter, Mary Beth. Resting in Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow, for visitation on Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. The funeral will be held in St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Hope River, on Monday, November 14, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Due to severe allergies, please refrain from wearing scented products.
