Acefortyfourdome the best in feature at CDP

- Compiled by Nicholas Oakes for Red Shores.

Covered up in the outer flow, Acefortyfourdome stormed home to capture the feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park on Nov. 10.

Driver Jason Hughes had Acefortyfourdome unhurried at the beginning of the Race 7 Lowther Refrigeration Ltd. Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace for a $3,200 purse as the daughter of Up The Credit got away fifth.

Plain Jane (driven by Ken Murphy) was fired up at the beginning, going to front and leading through fractions of 27.4 and 56.1 before her stablemate Dreamfair Zenfire (Marc Campbell) came calling first-over with Acefortyfourdome on her back second-over.

Three-quarters were reached in a snappy 1:24.4 by Dreamfair Zenfire, before Acefortyfourdome took over in the final stanza to win by three-quarters of a length over Tobins Brownie (David Dowling). Dreamfair Zenfire completed the triactor ticket in third. Hughes trains the winning mare for owner Donald Macrae of Vernon Bridge.

Mile Hill Willie led at every call to win the $2,800 Open Trot in Race 6. The six-year-old Armbro Barrister stallion left hard from Post 5 and cut out every fraction on his way to a 1:58.4 victory for driver Corey Macpherson, trainer and co-owner Paul Morrison of Cardigan and co-owner John Breau of Shediac Cape, N.B.

Incredible Two (Kenny Arsenault) sling-shotted in the stretch to reach up for second while race favourite Freddie (Campbell) finished third.

The program was the final Thursday evening card of the season at Red Shores Charlottetown. Racing continued Nov. 13 after the Nov. 12 card did not go ahead due to the weather.
