Our vibrant and beautiful mother, wife, sister, grandmothe­r, aunt, and dear friend passed away peacefully on November 11, 2022. Heather was born in Halifax on November 17, 1944, to Jim and Frances (Rose) May. Heather is known in the community as a Teacher, Rotarian, Historian, and an avid curler. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed crafts. Her love for fun and laughter will be missed by all who knew her, and her commitment to serving the community was an inspiratio­n to many. Heather is survived by her loving husband, Douglas Wort; children: Jodi Nutbrown of Charlottet­own, P.E.I., Heidi Smith (Andrew) of Texas, U.S.A. She is also stepmother to Julie Leclerc of Yellowknif­e, NWT and Jill Kirkwood of NL; She will be missed by her grandchild­ren, Bridget and Genevieve Kenny (P.E.I.), Carter and Bronwyn Smith (England) and step-grandchild­ren, Zinnya, Lancelot, Vianna Leclerc, and Emily and Brendan Kirkwood; along with many extended family members and friends. Heather had a very strong family connection to her siblings, Beverly (Richard, predecease­d) Evans of BC, Brenda May of Alberta, and Roger (Bonnie) May of P.E.I. She is predecease­d by her sister, Georgina (George) Lislois, and her infant sister, Charity. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541). Visitation and Funeral Services will be held in Hampton United Church (24 Robb Ct, Hampton, N.B.). Public visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 3 to 7 p.m and on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 3:30 PM, all from Hampton United Church. A family interment will take place in Nova Scotia at a later date. Donations in memory of Heather may be made to the Rotary Club of Hampton, the Hampton Food Basket, Operation Smile Canada, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
