It is with heavy hearts, the family of Joseph “Hector” Arsenault, announces his peaceful passing which occurred on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, PE. Born in Tignish, PE, on November 1, 1936, he was a son of the late Edward and Mary (Perry) Arsenault. In addition to his parents, he was predecease­d by his wife of 64 years, Velda Marie (Blacquire) Arsenault; his sons, Wayne and Keith; siblings, Audrey Arsenault (Freddie), Freddie and Gerard. He is survived by his children, Barb Arsenault, Carol Doyle (Clifford), Sandra Macdonald (Stephen), Paul Arsenault, Kevin Arsenault (Sheila); daughter-in-law, Tanni Arsenault; siblings, Sr. Aldona Arsenault, Marita Dunning (Gary) and Joanne Mackinnon (John); Cherished grandchild­ren, Adam, Kellie (John), Jeremy (Robin), Tracey (Connor), Natasha (Shawn), Michael (Natalie), Raeanne (Kent), Holly (Evan), Dylan, Karissa (Deven), Levi (Tyson) and Porter (Jade); 16 greatgrand­children and several nieces and nephews. Hector was a devoted husband, father, grandfathe­r, greatgrand­father, brother, and friend. He was a hard worker and provider for his family. His greatest joy was becoming a grandfathe­r. The family would like to express many thanks to the staff of Horizon Summerset Manor for their excellent care and compassion extended to Hector and family. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, with visitation on Thursday, February 29 from 2-3:45 p.m., followed by his funeral service at 4 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will take place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in the spring. Donations in memory of Hector may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of PEI or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
