It is with appreciati­on for a life well lived but with heavy hearts the family of Ethel Lois Scott announce her peaceful passing which occurred on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Whisperwoo­d Villa. Born in Bayview, PE, on October 7, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Annie (Toombs) Moore. In addition to her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, Hector Scott; siblings, Peggy Skinner (Al), Bessie Stewart (George) and Herbert Moore; and brother-in-law, John MacNeill. She is survived by her sons, Derrick Scott (Debbie) and Glenn Scott (Cheryl); cherished grandchild­ren, Jillian Matthews (Andy), Ryan Scott (Cindy), Anthony Scott (Natalie), Patti Scott (Robert Buote), Matt Scott, Lauren Ternan (Jaron), Jeffrey Watts and Bonnie Bridges; great grandchild­ren, Miah, Taylor, Myles, Sakura, Julia, Meredith, Liam, Scott and Aida; sister, Jennie MacNeill; sisterin-law, Myrna Moore; and several nieces and nephews. Ethel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r, great grandmothe­r, sister, aunt and friend. Ethel worked as an RN for many years. She was a devoted member of the Nurses Alumni and the Cornwall Seniors Group. She was also a faithful parishione­r of the West River United Church (formerly Cornwall United Church). Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, with visitation on Monday, March 4, from 4-7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at West River United Church on Tuesday, March 5 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the church cemetery in the spring.
