Charlottet­own Festival set for 2024 season

‘Anne of Green Gables - The Musical’, ‘Jersey Boys’ on stage

“Anne of Green Gables-the Musical” is returning to the Confederat­ion Centre of the Arts this summer alongside “Jersey Boys” for the 2024 Charlottet­own Festival.

Kelsey Verzotti and Laurie Murdoch will reprise their roles as Anne Shirley and Matthew Cuthbert from the 2022 festival, the two will be joined by alumni Alex Batycki, Lyndsey Britten, Andrew Mcallister, Trevor Patt, Shakeil Rollock, Brian Ross and Emma Rudy.

An additional array of Prince Edward Island talent includes Marlene Handrahan as Marilla Cuthbert, Catherine O’brien as Rachel Lynde and Shawna van Omme returning for her 14th season.

Islanders Sarah Bell, Jessica Burrett and Kristen Pottle will also make their return to the centre's stage.

Familiar faces will be taking up new roles, including Jacob Hemphill, who played a role in the 2023 festival, “The Songs of Johnny & June,” playing Nick Massi, a member of the Four Seasons, in “Jersey Boys.”

Hemphill’s 2023 co-star, Melissa Mackenzie, will also be making a return this summer.

New to the festival this year are Tyler Checks and Aaron Mackenzie, playing Tommy Devito and Frankie Valli respective­ly.

Bringing some experience to the team is alumni Trevor Patt, rounding out the Four Seasons as Bob Gaudio.

Festival goers will also see debuts from Vinnie Alberto, Malinda Carroll, Celeste Catena, Kaleigh Gorka, Amelia Hironaka and Ha’keena Maneso.

“Anne of Green Gables-the Musical” will run from June 19 to Aug. 31, while “Jersey Boys” will take the stage from June 25 until Sept. 21.
