• A dance will be held on March 9 at Hillsboro Community Centre with music by Joe Hines and friends and dancing 8- 11 p.m. Lunch will be served, and there is a licensed bar. Admission is at the door.

• The Royal Commonweal­th Society of P.E.I. invites the public to attend a free event in celebratio­n of Commonweal­th Day. It will be held March 11, 7 p.m., at the Kirk of St. James, Pownal Street, Charlottet­own. A colourful display of flags from the 56 member countries will be presented by cadets of the sea, army, air and navy league. A message from the King will be read by P.E.I. Lt.-gov. Antionette Perry. Music will be provided by the P.E.I. Regiment Band and the Singing

Strings. There will be a free will offering, and light refreshmen­ts will be served.

• People are invited to get to know their neighbours, Monday and Friday, 10-11 a.m., at the Milton Community Hall. Coffee, tea and snacks are available by donation of coin or treats.

• P.E.I. Sociable Singles, a nonprofit, non-denominati­onal, social group, provides separated, divorced, widowed and unmarried people 50 and over with an opportunit­y to get out of the house and participat­e in healthy group and social activities.
