Amelda will be missed by her good friend and former co-worker, Bernadette Paquet, sister, Marie Hagen and lifelong childhood friend, Phyllis Robertson.

Amelda was deeply religious and a hard worker throughout her life, working on the family farm, harvesting Irish moss, cutting pulp wood, growing vegetables to sell at (Cheverie’s and Mel Macphee’s) and working as a nurse at Colville Manor for twenty years. She loved to play a good joke, have a good laugh and to make people laugh. She enjoyed writing tributes to commemorate the personal milestones attained by her friends, coworkers, and family. Amelda was a “go to” person in her community and was always available to help others, especially the young people. Although she never owned a cookbook, she loved cooking a good meal and she made sure that “no one” left her house hungry. She enjoyed playing auction 45 and cribbage. Two of her fondest memories were: working as a nurse for a year in 1951 in Sainte Agathe, Quebec and as mom put it, “the trip of a lifetime” travelling across Canada for eight weeks in a renovated van with her husband Art Robichaud.
