On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Kings County Memorial Hospital, beloved husband, father, grandfathe­r, great-grandfathe­r, uncle, great-uncle, and great-greatuncle, Joseph Aldridge Lannigan, age 83, passed away peacefully with loving family at his side. Born in Montague, on November 5, 1940, son of the late Joseph and Helena (Collins) Lannigan. Left to mourn and remember with much love is, his devoted wife of 62 years, Shirley Lannigan (Smith); his children, Leonard (Lauretta), Darlene Lannigan-McGee, Charlene (Raymond) Campbell, Joey (Andrea) and Phillip (Kanda); brother, Larry (Jean) Lanigan; sistersin-law, Mary Lanigan (late Arthur) and Judy (Roy) MacMillan; brother-in-law, Sam (Debi) Smith; 15 cherished grandchild­ren, Devan, Stephanie, Tyler, Laura, Steven, Courtney, Chantal, Amanda, Tony, Samantha, Halley, Mitchell, Matthew, Sophie and Ben; 14 adored great-grandchild­ren; and beloved nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. He had a special relationsh­ip with all his grandchild­ren and greatgrand­children. Predecease­d by son, Jamie (Diane); siblings, Harold (Evelyn), Joan (Reigh) Llewellyn, Vincent, Jack (Tina), Arthur and Maxine Bell; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Leonard and Melvina Smith. The loss is immeasurab­le, but so is the love left behind. Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting hours on Sunday, March 10th from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral Service to be held from St. Mary's Catholic Church, Montague, Monday, March 11th at 11 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
