Chance to learn about IB program

COLONEL GRAY HIGH SCHOOL

During Block D on March 12, Heidi Morgan from Holland College will be speaking to students involved in trades and open level courses about a new pathways program, as well as other options for students.

On March 13, 7 p.m., in the library, there will be an IB registrati­on informatio­n session for parents of students entering IB in Grade 11 next year. The storm date is March 14.

On March 18-19, Gwladys Bolemua, a profession­al dancer from Africa, France and now Montreal, will lead 20 Colonel Gray classes in Jamaican and Caribbean style dance sessions in the cafeteria. Also, the public are invited to a community dance class on March 18, 6-7:30 p.m., at Spring Park Elementary. No dance experience is required, and entrance is by donation.

There will be a Tropical Spring Fling school dance on March 20, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Admission is $10.

March break will be March 22-28. With Easter holidays immediatel­y following, students will return to classes on April 2.

The Colonel Gray Music Department is hosting Jazz Night at the Gray on April 8 in the lecture theatre at 7 p.m. The Colonel Gray big band and the senior jazz band will perform, with special guests, the UPEI jazz and pop band. Admission is by donation and is open to the public.

The High School Reports feature runs in The Guardian on Tuesdays during the school year. All Prince Edward Island high schools are invited to send in contributi­ons.
