Tax season is here, and the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) runs Thursdays and Saturdays until April 27 at the Charlottet­own Library Learning Centre. Volunteers complete tax returns for people with a modest income and a simple tax situation. Thursdays are drop-offs, 6:30-8 p.m., and Saturdays are in-person, 1-3 p.m.

For those who need help finding a job, the Employment Journey will be providing an in-depth tour of its website March 18 at 2 p.m.

Book Lovers Talk Books, an informal conversati­onal style club, is March 19 at 6 p.m.

Join Marion Copleston for An Introducti­on to Watercolou­r

Painting Workshop at our Seniors Café March 21 at 1 p.m. All supplies will be provided, followed by snacks and refreshmen­ts.

A Family Eclipse Viewing Party is April 8, 3:30-5:30 p.m. Viewing glasses will be given out, and there will be eclipse-inspired activity stations for all ages.

Free movies for the month are “Super Mario Bros” (rated G) March 25 at 6 p.m. and “Brazil” (rated R) April 2 at 1 p.m. Anime Club (ages 18+) is April 9 at 6 p.m.

Learn French with volunteer Gustavo Gonzalez at French Course for Beginners for adults on Saturdays in April and May, noon to 2 p.m. Register in advance for this eight-week course that runs April 6 to May 25.

Service Canada will visit to provide informatio­n and help set up anyone eligible during the Canada Dental Care Plan Presentati­on April 10 at 10 a.m.

A Scrabble Club meets every Tuesday, 5-8 p.m., and the Board Game Café is on the last Wednesday of every month, 6 p.m. A Seniors’ Board Game Club is April 8 and 22, 1-3 p.m.

Coffee filter peonies will be made at Crafternoo­n April 10,1 p.m. Register in advance.

Poet-in-residence Tanya Davis will be available April 11, 3-5 p.m. to speak one-onone with writers by appointmen­t, followed by a poetry and spoken word open mic at 6:30 p.m. hosted by Davis. Contact the Charlottet­own Library Learning Centre to perform.

There are lots of activities during PD days starting with a Pokémon party March 22 at 10 a.m. for ages six to 12, followed by Blueberry Muffin Edition in the kitchen on March 22, 2 p.m., for ages 13-18.

During March break, kids six to 12 can attend a dinosaur party March 26, 10-11 a.m., followed by DIY friendship bracelets, 5-7 p.m. Test engineerin­g skills and see how high a tower can be built March 28, 10-11 a.m.

Teen Hangout happens

March 25-28, 1-3 p.m., for ages 11-18. Join Wild Child and the library for crafts and cooking, try screen printing, zine making, cooking and much more.

Two children’s authors visit in April. Danielle Metcalfech­enail, the author of “Freddie the Flyer,” is here April 7, 2 p.m., and Sal Sawler, author of “When the Ocean Came to Town,” will be here April 14, 2 p.m. for reading, crafts and games.
