Traditional music/ jam sessions
• Home-grown Harmony, a ceilidh with Jo-anne Ford and Michael Buell, is Thursdays, with the next one March 21, 7 p.m., upstairs in the Hambly room, Cavendish Wellness Centre, Montague. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Performers are Doreen Doucette, the Macdonald Sisters (Doris Macdonald and Marie Docherty), fiddler/guitarist Harry Buell and a couple of surprise guests. There’s also an open mic. Tickets are $10 cash at the door. There’s a light lunch with tea and coffee, as well as a canteen. Seating is at tables and in rows. Net proceeds are to the local food bank. • Weekly Friday night ceilidhs are at the Seniors Circle Club in St. Peter’s Bay, 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5.
• Kitchen party is March 22, 8-10 p.m., at the Acadian Musical Village, Abram-village, featuring Kurk Bernard. Admission is $5 for those 19 years and over. There is also a Chase the Ace draw at 9:15 p.m.
• Kitchen party is at the Summerside Legion March 23, 2-5 p.m., featuring Back in Tyme (Blair Coughlin, Peter Burke, George Macphee), playing classic country and old rock ’n’ roll. Admission is $5.
• Rustico Bay Ceilidh and Dance will be held March 23, 8 p.m., with Haché, playing country favourites, as well a variety of rock ’n’ roll and music of the Maritimes. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. There is bar service and a 50-50 draw at this event for those 19 and over. Admission is $12 at the door.
• Ceilidh at Kinkora is March 24, 1:30 p.m., at Kinkora Place. The admission of $10 includes refreshments. There will be a 50-50 draw. Refreshments will be served. Performers will be Not All There, Kevin Arthur, Jeannie Campbell & Charles Reid, stepdancer Lillian Bradley and Vince and Allen Keoughan.

Concerts
• Island Jazz Thursdays at Baba’s Lounge in Charlottetown on March 21 features Liam Corcoran teaming up with some of the top folk musicians in P.E.I. for two fun, unique sets of country and bluegrass with a twist – Island Jazz style. Corcoran is on vocals with Gordie Mackeeman, fiddle, Peter Cann, guitar, Mark Geddes, bass, and Nick Doneff on a few different instruments. There are two sets with the first starting at 8 p.m. Donations are at the door with a $5 minimum.
• Still Standin: A Night of Elton John and Billy Joel is March 21-22, 8:30 p.m., at the P.E.I. Brewing Company in Charlottetown.
• Beaconsfield Historic House, West Street, Charlottetown, is presenting a limited series of 10 concerts it the facility’s double drawing room. The final one March 22, 6 p.m., features Lucy Farrell. The fundraising event is an intimate musical experience, with 15 tickets for each show. For tickets, visit peimuseum.ca. Proceeds directly support Beaconsfield Historic House in its work to preserve history and promote the arts in Charlottetown.

• Sunday Blues is 3-6 p.m. at Copper Bottom in Montague, a weekly jam hosted by Logan Richard and featuring a special guest for the first set (Roland Beaulieu, hosted by Dan Doiron, March 24). Others are invited to join in on the second set. There is free admission.
• A concert March 23, 2 p.m., at the Milton Community Hall features Scott Parsons with Em Peters, Heather Taves and Keziah Collie. • Third annual Watermark Children's Theatre Festival is April 5-7 at the venue in North Rustico, featuring “Grimm and Grumpy” by Laura Caswell presented by Neptune Theatre Tour Co. on April 5-6 and P.E.I.'S own “Musical Storytime” by Tunes and Tales on April 7.
• Snowed In Comedy Tour is April 4, 7:30 p.m., in the Sobey Family Theatre of Confederation Centre of the Arts. Dan Quinn is joined by Paul Myrehaug, the Great Canadian Laugh Off winner, and Pete Zedlacher, six-time Canadian Comedian of the year nominee.

Literary events/lectures
• David Cairns, scientist emeritus with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, will give a lecture titled the Biogeography of North Atlantic Islands on March 26, 7 p.m., in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building, UPEI. His lecture is part of the 2024 Island Lecture Series, presented by the Institute of Island Studies at UPEI.
• Tara Maclean, a renowned P.E.I. singer-songwriter and author of the best-selling memoir, "Song of the Sparrow," will also talk about and read from her memoir in conversation with Richard Lemm, professor of English, on March 28, 7 p.m., in the UPEI Performing Arts Centre in the new residence building. • As part of the Sixty Days of Fame series, the Summerside Art Club has a new exhibit on display at the Lefurgey Cultural Centre – A View From the Farm. Exhibits are the Wendell Feener Clock Collection: Clocks of the Island, 1770 to 1960; P.E.I. and the Monarchy; George Uglow Pope of South India, Scholar of the Tamil Language; history of the Epekwitnewaq Mi’kmaq, the Acadian and Loyalist settlements of the Bedeque area; the Borden ferry service, Callbeck’s Country Store and many more.
