With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Waldon Everett Burt on Monday, March 18, 2024 surrounded by family at the Prince County Hospital at the age of 80. Born in French River, March 6, 1944, son of the late Everett and Mary Evelyn (Thompson) Burt. Survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Nancy Burt; his son Gerry (Dianne) Burt, daughter Dawna (Gerald) Smith, as well as his stepmom Gladys (Burgoyne Andrew) Burt. Grandfathe­r of Tyler (Angie) Davidson, Heidi Burt (Jacob Robar), Nathan Burt (Amanda Williams) and Jake Smith. Great-grandfathe­r to Zoey Davidson and Skye Northrup. Half-brother of Calvin Burt, stepbrothe­rs Basil (Susan) Andrew, and Allison (Lillas) Andrew as well as brother in-law Bill (Evelyn) Mill. Also remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. After starting his career as a mechanic, Waldon found his true passion as a fisherman, having fished for over 35-plus years. Waldon had a strong connection with animals, especially Pugs. There was a special place in his heart for his numerous pets throughout the years, most recently Piper and Lucy. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at the Prince County Hospital, clergy, as well as Hospice PEI volunteers for their kind and caring nature over the past several months. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington. No visitation or funeral service by personal request. Interment in People’s Cemetery, Malpeque.
