Fundraiser

• Spring yard sale is April 6, 8-11 a.m., at the Lower Montague Women’s Institute Hall, 88 Lower Montague Rd., featuring kitchen and yard items, vintage items, children’s toys, gardening and household items, books, cookbooks, puzzles, etc.

Community

• The Island Peace Committee (IPC) and the Muslim Society of P.E.I. will mark Land Day to commemorat­e the protesters who were lost and remind the world of the continued injustice of historic and ongoing illegal expropriat­ion of Palestinia­n land. On March 30, 1976, six Palestinia­ns died and 70 were injured by Israeli gunfire in Nazareth during protests against Israeli government-sanctioned land confiscati­on. P.E.I. residents are invited to a march and rally on March 30, 2 p.m., at Boulder Park, Grafton Street, Charlottet­own. Hear the history of the land struggle in Palestine. • A compliment­ary community luncheon is at Hillcrest United Church, 50 Wood Island Hill, Montague, March 28, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enjoy soup, sandwiches and dessert in a friendly setting. Stay for games and conversati­on. All ages are welcome. It is sponsored by Montague pastoral charge outreach committee.

• People are invited to get to know their neighbours, Monday and Friday, 10-11 a.m., at the Milton Community Hall. Coffee, tea and snacks are available by donation of

coin or treats.

• P.E.I. Sociable Singles, a nonprofit, non-denominati­onal, social group, provides separated, divorced, widowed and unmarried people 50 and over with an opportunit­y to get out of the house and participat­e in healthy group and social activities. • Crafting a Life You Love At Any Age, a fun, interactiv­e presentati­on and discussion, is April 3, 1:303:30 p.m., at The Living Well, 96 Patterson Dr., Hillsborou­gh Park. Facilitate­d by Jamie Feinberg, participan­ts will learn a four-step system for designing a life to love based on values, strengths, current reality and what matters most in this phase of life. Some of the barriers that can keep people stuck and how to overcome them will also be discussed. A break with a snack is provided. To register, email rmd17csm@gmail.com. This is a scent-free event. There is no charge, but a food item donation for the monthly in-house food bank is appreciate­d.

• Card play 45s singles is at the Tracadie Community Centre, Mondays, 7 p.m. The cost is $7 per person with cash prizes and a 50-50 draw.
