The death occurred peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, of Marjorie “Irene” Bagnall (nee Batstone) of Stratford, age 77 years. She will be dearly missed by her beloved husband of 56 years, Carl Bagnall and her daughters Kimberly Tersteeg and Wendy (James MacDonald). Cherished grandmothe­r of Qeturah (Jeff Baglole), Nathan (Sara), Carter, and Benjamin and great grandmothe­r to Emerie, Lewyn, Ronan and Bohden. Irene is survived by her brother Dennis (Donna) and her special fur friends, Oreo and Stanley. Irene is predecease­d by her parents, Victor and Madeline (nee Ivany) Batstone; and her brothers, Ray (Lenora–deceased) and John, and sonin-law Rick Tersteeg. Irene was born and raised in Newfoundla­nd but found her way to Prince Edward Island on the arm of Carl. Irene was an avid collector of all things antique. She could often be found anywhere antiques were sold, including flea marketing with Gretchen and trips to New England with her childhood friends, Carol and Evelyn. Over the years, she was active in the community as a Brownie and Girl Guide leader and a longtime employee of Callbeck’s Furniture and Leon’s Furniture. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where visitation will take place on Monday, April 1st from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, April 2 at 11 a.m. with the interment to take place at a later date.
