School ending early for solar eclipse

On April 8, school will be dismissing two hours early for student and staff safety, related to the full solar eclipse.

Grade 10 and 11 students will be registerin­g for next year’s courses between April 9 and 22.

The DELF Exam will be written on April 15-16. Photo IDS will be required upon arrival.

Report cards will go home with students on April 17.

Parent-teacher interviews will be on April 18 (6:30-9 p.m.) and April 19 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) with teachers located in the gym and cafeteria.

Earth Day is April 22 when everyone is encouraged to wear green. The entire month will include a free plant giveaway day, decorating and delivering paper bags for Sobeys, lunch waste sorting games, environmen­tal announceme­nts, neighbourh­ood garbage pickup, chalk board displays and a clothing swap.

There will be an Internatio­nal Coffee House on April 25 at 7 p.m., hosted by the KEY Club, Diversity Club and the Safe Grad Committee. It is a night to celebrate the wonderful diversity at Colonel Gray High School. There will be a talent show, with internatio­nal foods at intermissi­on, trivia questions throughout the evening and a cake auction for Safe Grad. Tickets are $5. Donations are also accepted at the door.

The High School Reports feature runs in The Guardian on Tuesdays during the school year. All Prince Edward Island high schools are invited to send in contributi­ons.
