Traditiona­l music/ jam sessions

• Home-grown Harmony, a ceilidh with Jo-anne Ford and Michael Buell, is Thursdays, with the next one April 4, 7 p.m., upstairs in the Hambly room, Cavendish Wellness Centre, Montague. • Rustico Bay ceilidh and dance will be held April 6, 8 p.m., with Lost Soul. • Bonshaw Hall is hosting a celebratio­n of spring's arrival with a ceilidh April 7, 2 p.m. Families and children are especially welcome, and there will be a short singalong for the kids. Performers include Alicia Toner and Max Keenlyside. Conifer seedlings will be given out, and folks can choose a book from a wide selection. Admission by donation at the door in support of the hall. Children under 12 are free.

• Winsloe United Church spring fundraiser ceilidh is April 7, 2 p.m. Host Jacinta Macdonald and the house band of Billy Matthews, David Berrigan, Brian Langille, Judy Lowe and Steven Perry welcome special guests Chad Matthews. The church which is wheelchair accessible. Coffee, tea and cold drinks will be served at intermissi­on. Admission is $15 at the door, which opens at 1:30 p.m.

• Island Jazz Thursdays at Baba’s Lounge in Charlottet­own on April 4 features Carlie Howell hosting a Tribute to Women of Jazz. Howell, bass player and musicologi­st, will be joined by Mike Ross (keys), Ivan Garnica (guitar) and Garrett Sherwood (drums) to interpret jazz songs by feminized composers, and redefine who belongs in the jazz canon. The host also has some special guests lined up for the second set. There are two sets with the first starting at 8 p.m. Donations are at the door with a $5 minimum.

• As part of the Sixty Days of Fame series at the Lefurgey Cultural Centre in Summerside, P.E.I. artist Shelia Forsyth presents a solo exhibit that explores subjects and colurs of beautiful places and spaces, from across P.E.I. and around the world, which have inspired her.
