It wasn’t without nervous moments, but the Summerside D. Alex Macdonald Ford Western Capitals are in position to win a Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) playoff series.

The Capitals built a 4-0 lead in a 4-3 victory over the Amherst Ramblers on April 10. The Caps lead the bestof-seven Eastlink South Division final 3-2. Game 6 is in Amherst, N.S. on April 12 at 7:30 p.m.

“We have been outshooting them all series and they are a very opportunistic team,” said Summerside rookie forward Jonah Macdonald. “They take care of their chances.

“I found in the third (period), we let them stick around and they potted a couple to make it close, but, in the end, we took care of business.”

“It’s definitely been a homer series,” said Caps head coach Billy Mcguigan. “At the end of the day, we’ve played five games in this series now and we feel the numbers are on our side. We have to figure out a way to win over there.”
