Fundraiser­s

• Pinch Penny Fair is April 20 at Confederat­ion Centre of the Arts, Charlottet­own, featuring collectibl­es, art, music, books, plants, baking and more. The Friends volunteers, who are organizing it, will be accepting donations of gentlyused items April 12 and 13, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the box office entrance on Queen Street. Donations include books, sporting goods, toys, plants, music, jewelry, furniture, tools, glassware, etc. Please note: clothing, television­s and computer donations cannot be accepted.

• Spring brunch fundraiser is at Dunstaffna­ge School Centre on April 14, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $10 per person, $6 for youth seven to 12 years and free for children six and under. Enjoy pancakes, sausages, quiche, baked beans, homemade biscuits, muffins, juice, coffee and tea. This is a fundraiser for the centre.

• The annual Spring Park Church yard sale is at 85 Kirkwood Dr., Charlottet­own, 8:30 a.m. to noon, on April 20, with gently used items, including toys, games, housewares, tools, jewelry, gifts and more.

• A fundraisin­g sale is being put on by Holy Redeemer CWL, April 20, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring a used book sale, a new-to-you table, a jewelry table and a plant table along with a draw for gift baskets. The sale is at the Jack Blanchard Centre, 3 Pond St., Charlottet­own. There is free admission.

• Ladies Day Spring High Tea fundraisin­g event is at Kelly’s Cross Community Centre April 27, noon to 2:30 p.m. The high tea is entirely vegan, and gluten-free platters can be arranged. Money raised will go to Shap Shap NPO’S social developmen­t programs in two rural, impoverish­ed communitie­s in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa.

Reunion

• Class of 1974 50th graduation anniversar­y celebratio­n for 1974 Charlottet­own Rural High School graduates is June 8, 6 p.m., at the Haviland Club, 2 Haviland St., Charlottet­own. Community

• A compliment­ary community luncheon is at Hillcrest United Church in Montague April 25, 11 :30 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are welcome to enjoy soup, sandwiches and dessert. Games are available for all ages. Enjoy a social time and delicious food in a friendly setting at 50 Wood Island Hill Rd.

• People are invited to get to know their neighbours, Monday and Friday, 10-11 a.m., at the Milton Community Hall. Coffee, tea and snacks are available by donation of coin or treats.

• P.E.I. Sociable Singles, a nonprofit, non-denominati­onal, social group, provides separated, divorced, widowed and unmarried people 50 and over with an opportunit­y to get out of the house and participat­e in healthy group and social activities. Courses, clinics, presentati­ons

• Reflection­s on Aspects of Nature, facilitate­d by Sister Bernice Steele, will focus on the four elements of the universe – air, water, fire and earth – through sitting quietly with texts and photograph­s, viewing some short videos and learning from each other to gain a deeper appreciati­on for Earth. This session is at The Living Well, 96 Patterson Dr., Charlottet­own, April 17, 1:30-3:30 p.m. A break with a snack is provided. To register, email rmd17csm@gmail.com. This is a scent-free event. There is no charge, however, participan­ts are welcomed to bring a food item for the monthly in-house Food Bank.

• A free workshop, Anti-racism: The Basics, is at the Milton Community Hall, North Milton, April 25, 6 p.m. A light supper can be provided at 5:30 p.m. for those who pre-register for this threehour session. Topics include white privilege, racial trauma, intersecti­onality, oppression and reducing unconsciou­s bias. The workshop will be highly interactiv­e. Facilitato­rs are from BIPOC USHR.
