Phase II on stage for two concerts
Don't Be Cruel – The Music of Elvis Presley coming to Kelly's Cross, Mount Stewart
Phase II is getting set to perform Don't Be Cruel – The Music of Elvis Presley at two P.E.I. venues this weekend.
One of P.E.I.’S longest running active bands, Phase II will make its first visit to Kelly's Cross for a concert on May 4. Set for the Kelly's Cross Community Centre Entertainment Committee, it gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
Phase II, which is made up of Gerry Hickey, Keila Glydon, John Mcgarry. Ed Young, Jeanie Campbell, Blaine Murphy and Pat King, presents many of its concerts based on a theme, and this show will be no exception. Although Elvis Presley, known as the king of rock ’n’ roll, died in 1977, his music is still enormously popular today. The Phase II performance will feature a mix of his liveliest tunes like “Jailhouse Rock,” “Blue Suede Shoes,” “All Shook Up” and many more. Added to the list will be a number of his best ballads, such as “Love Me Tender,” “Always On My Mind” and “Can't Help Falling In Love With You.”
Advance tickets for the Kelly’s Cross show may be purchased by calling Jim, 902628-9204, Ian, 902-393-9114, or Joe, 902-394-4253. Tickets are also available by contacting Hickey, 902-393-3251 or on Messenger.
The Community Centre is located at 1475 Route 13 in Kelly's Cross. Doors open at 7 p.m., with music beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Phase II will also perform Don't Be Cruel - The Music of Elvis Presley at St. John’s United Church in Mount Stewart on May 5, 7 p.m.
The church is a warm and welcoming venue with excellent acoustics. Phase II has played there many times and is looking forward to returning for this performance.
Tickets for this performance are available only at the door – $15 per person. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
“If you remember Elvis, and enjoyed his music, there will certainly be something for you,” says a release about the shows.
