• Winsloe United Church presents a fundraisin­g ceilidh May 19, 2 p.m. Host Dino Dunsford and the house band (Dave Berrigan, Brian Langille, Steve Perry, Brian Knox, Judy Lowe) welcome Louise and Jonathan Arsenault. • Dan Doiron returns for a performanc­e in the lounge at Harmony House in Hunter River, May 17, 6:30 p.m. This is a non-ticketed, pay-what-you-can at the door event.

• Three Oaks High School music department presents Dawn of A New Day May 16, at the College of Piping in Summerside, featuring the TOSH wind ensemble, Branden Kelly, conductor. Admission is $10 at the door.

• Island Jazz Thursdays at Baba’s Lounge in Charlottet­own on May 16 celebrates, for the first time, the darkness of jazz ukelele. Island Jazz Macabre features Dotty Davis, who will present standards with dark themes, along with covers of other dark and macabre songs. She’ll be joined by Jordan Taylor, guitar, Chris Martell, bass, and Mat Maceachern, drums. Two sets start at 8 p.m. Admission is by donation with a $10 minimum.

• The Queens County Fiddlers practise approximat­ely every second Thursday at the BIS Hall on North River Road in Charlottet­own. There’s a slow jam at 6:30 p.m. and a practice at 7:30 p.m. The group’s next practice is May 16. All are welcome – players and listeners.

• Carrying on the tradition of the Miscouche band, musicians and interested parties are meeting Wednesdays at Summerside Intermedia­te School (247 Central St., Summerside), 6:30 p.m. in the band room (look for signs). Workshops

• The River Clyde Pageant (July 25-28 and Aug. 1-4) is holding a free puppet ensemble workshop – training in ensemble-based puppetry and performanc­e with Franziska Glen and Laura Stinson – on the pageant site and at the outdoor studio in New Glasgow. • The Time of Our Lives Seniors College Group Art Show and Sale featuring artwork of Seniors College students and instructor­s will be showcased at the Hilda Woolnough Gallery at The Guild in Charlottet­own until May 28. This is the 12th anniversar­y for this group show. The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

• As part of the Sixty Days of Fame series at the Lefurgey Cultural Centre in Summerside, artist Shelia Forsyth presents a solo exhibit, Here and There: A Journey in Colour, that explores subjects and colours of beautiful places and spaces, from across P.E.I. and around the world, which have inspired her. It runs until May 31. The exhibit can be viewed, Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., free of charge. The centre is at 205 Prince St.

• Confederat­ion Centre Art Gallery is showing Donald Andrus: A Retrospect­ive until May 19; Mn’tu wikk ti! until June 19 and The Sweet Spot until Jan. 26.
