Vol­un­teers lend a hand to clean up Grand Bay West beach in Port aux Basques

On Satur­day, June 16 mem­bers of the Sou’west New­found­land Delta Wa­ter­fowl, along with fam­ily, friends and other vol­un­teers headed out to Grand Bay West as part of an on­go­ing cleanup project.

“Well it was one of the goals when we started this delta chap­ter. To reg­u­larly or­ga­nize habi­tat cleanup,” said Mark Lomond. “This will be done reg­u­larly in dif­fer­ent ar­eas as of­ten as we can.”

In to­tal, the group hauled away 15 bags of garbage as well as larger items such as tires.
