Santa stops by Port aux Basques for annual tree lighting and breakfast fundraiser

The Gulf News (Port aux Basques) - - News -

Both the tree lighting and breakfast with Santa proved to be huge successes again this year.

Although there wasn’t a tree to light at the Bruce II Sports Centre, it was improvised with the Charlie Brown Tree.

The Bruce II offered a free 50-minute swim and the Girl Guides sang a few songs.

The Breakfast with Santa saw a great response. This year 190 breakfasts were served, a solid increase from last year’s 107 breakfasts.

In total, $380 was collected at the door, and the money raised was split equally between the Gateway Women’s Centre and the Salvation Army for the food bank.

Appreciation went out to the sponsors and volunteers.
