St. James confirmation classes raise over $1500 for various charities
The Confirmation Classes of St. James Church in Port aux Basques have completed their Stewardship Project, raising over $1580 for various charities.
The 17 children were given $5 each to come up with an idea to raise funds. The money they raised was distributed to several different charities: $100 to local Christmas Hampers; $100 to the Gateway Women’s Centre in Port aux Basques; $100 to the In Memory of Shadow Fund (a local animal rescue organization); and, finally, $1280 to the Primates World Relief Fund (PWRF), which will help with the purchase of farm animals and bicycles for villages in undeveloped countries.
The students are very grateful to everyone who purchased tickets or helped in any way to make this project such a success.
