New flat roof skylights

-

Do you live in a home or apartment with a flat roof? The latest innovation from Europe, where flat roofs are common, now brings increased sunlight and fresh air to Canadian homes in one simple step.

Specialty manufacturer, Velux, has introduced a new flat roof skylight made with an energy efficient glass window combined with a protective curved cover that sheds precipitation so that the skylight can be installed flat–with no slope required. The pre-built PVC insulated curb and double-pane glass with argon, provide excellent sound and weather insulation. Skylights and flat roof skylights provide almost twice as much daylight as a typical window due to the angle they are placed at. Now even those without traditional angled roof s have access to a high- efficiency skylight solution that is guaranteed not to leak.

Natural daylight has many proven positive effects on the mind and body, which is significantly affected by the seasonal changes in daylight. Health specialists tell us that exposure to light enhances human health and comfort, immune response and productivity, creating an improved sense of overall well-being.

Painting a wall in the season's hottest colour, or replacing appliances gives your home a facelift. Investing in a skylight or two will provide i mmediate benefits t o both the look and comfort of your home. They also pay dividends in terms of resale value, homeowners say. Most prospective buyers will enjoy the increase in natural daylight when they enter a room with skylights, and will be willing to pay more for a brighter, airier house than a darker home of the same size and style.
