ROBERT ISZKULA Before starting Bike Locke, Robert Iszkula volunteered with Recycle Cycles, Hamilton’s volunteer-run, not-forprofit bike repair workshop. He enjoyed it so much he took a bike repair course and launched the business. “I got really addicted to dealing with the customers and helping them fix their bikes. I really enjoy being in the shop and talking to people who are excited about cycling and helping them further their cycling goals. You get a payoff for what you do right away.” Bike Locke has a couple of interesting services – one is the “on the spot flat repair”, which gets cyclists back on the road right away. “My shop is geared to people who ride their bikes to get places – it is their vehicle. So they need their bikes right away.” The other is the bicycle donation program. “In my mind, every bike is worth fixing…”
