Hockey town Las Vegas — not!

-

RE: NHL expansion In a story that will sound familiar to Hamiltonians, a few years ago, the NHL advised the city of Quebec that the only thing standing in the way of the city being awarded an expansion franchise was the lack of an arena that met the league standards. So the city went ahead and built a brand new state-of-the art arena. Now the league is set to announce that it will expand to that hotbed of hockey — Las Vegas, Nevada. It is worth noting that minor hockey registration for the entire state of Nevada in 2013/14 was 552 kids. How can the sport fail to succeed with such a strong youth base. On behalf of all Canadian hockey fans, “Thanks again, Gary Bettman!” Ron Agnew, Hamilton
