What’s filming in Hamilton?

-

Hamilton will be seeing the summer filming season in full swing starting this week. Seven different productions will be filming all across the city from the west end in Freelton to Stoney Creek.

Later this week Hamilton welcomes back “American Gods” which will be shooting on York Road as well as at the Hamilton Cemetery on Thursday June 30. “American Gods” is based on the novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman and focuses on the mysterious Shadow, a man who is released from prison a few days early after serving a three-year sentence for bank robbery when his beloved wife Laura is killed in a car accident. Flying home for the funeral, Shadow is seated next to a man who introduces himself only as Mr. Wednesday, and this man knows more about Shadow’s life, both past and present, than is possible.

Also, the fifth season of “Paranormal Witness” is currently filming in Freelton. “Paranormal Witness” has people relate true tales of supernatural hauntings and explanation-defying paranormal experiences, which are brought to life through recreations. Season Five airs Aug. 5 on Space.

Current productions who are scouting to shoot in Hamilton include: “Murdoch Mysteries,” The Good Witch,” “Alias Grace” and “IT,” to name a few. All are looking to begin filming later this summer.
