Sudbury man dies after tow truck hits him

say a 48-year-old Sudbury man died after he was struck by a tow truck at a Stoney Creek gas station Monday. The 21-year-old driver of the truck had refuelled at the 816 Queenston Rd. Shell station at Cenyear-old tennial Parkway around 4 p.m.

After he pulled out, people alerted him that a man was down on the sidewalk nearby, police said Tuesday. The driver and a female passenger got out of the truck to investigat­e.

After police were called, the 48Police man was pronounced dead on scene.

An autopsy Tuesday confirmed he died of “multiple blunt force trauma to the torso.”

Police say that alcohol and speed have been ruled out against the driver and no charges are expected.
