Our picks for the top 4 coolest cars from the auto trade show

Narrowing down the hits to a short list of must-sees was far from an easy task

This year’s SEMA Show is really special because it’s the 50year anniversary of this aftermarket extravaganza. The show gets bigger and bigger every year, and this year’s trade show had a record number of attendees and exhibitors. Roaming the massive show grounds in Las Vegas, you’ll see everything from 10-foot-tall brodozer trucks to crystal-encrusted V8s and slammed muscle cars, but here are our picks for the top four coolest cars of this year’s SEMA Show. Honestly, there were too many cool cars to make even a top-100 list, but we hope you enjoy anyway!

4. ‘SANTA FAST’ SONATA

No. 4 on our list is a Hyundai that’s dubbed the “Santa Fast.” It’s powered by a hand-built, twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V6 that puts out more than 1,000 horsepower. All that power heads to the rear wheels through a sixspeed manual gearbox ripped out of the Genesis R-Spec.

3. PORSCHE 911 RWB MARTINI

One of my personal favourites is this gorgeous RWB Porsche 911, dressed in Martini Racing livery.

The Martini Racing colours work so well on this tasteful widebodied 964 with a Garrett turbo providing boost. This particular 964 is rumoured to be cranking out 600 horsepower and pays homage to the legendary Carrera RSR that won the gruelling Targa Floria race in 1973.

2. DODGE DURANGO SHAKER

The Dodge Durango Shaker concept combines the looks of the Charger SRT 392 with the shaker hood from the Challenger. The main reason we like this concept so much is that it looks like an actual production car.

Inside, it gets three rows of seats pulled from the Dodge Viper. Power, of course, comes from a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 and this has the best chance of becoming a production car because it’s basically a Grand Cherokee SRT underneath.

1. FORD GTT FROM ZERO TO 60 DESIGNS

Taking the top spot for coolest SEMA car is this crazy creation from custom builders Zero to 60 Designs.

This mash-up between the Ford GT and the Mustang is called the GTT, and although it’s not an of

ficial Ford build, this is a productioncar you can actually buy. The GTT boasts more than 800 horsepower and upwards of 700 lbs.-ft. of torque.
