“The Nutcracker”

Canada’s Ballet Jörgen returns to Hamilton with Bengt Jörgen’s Canadian holiday classic. “The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition” plays at Hamilton Place for one day only on Saturday at 2 p.m., and will include young Hamilton-area dancers. Christmas market

Every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Ottawa Street hosts a Christmas Market. The historic outdoor market will be extra-special as it gets festive for the season.

McQuestens’ Christmas

The McQuestens look back on the Christmas of their childhood. The family’s toys are under a tree adorned with decoration­s in the style of the 1880s. The table is set with the china the family used for Christmas and the new year from the 1850s. Open from noon to 4 p.m. until Jan. 8. ’Twas the Night before Christmas

Enjoy Westfield Heritage Village by candleligh­t. Music, food samples and fireworks. Little ones can send a telegraph to the North Pole, have a visit with Father Christmas, make a traditiona­l Christmas ornament at the one-room log schoolhous­e and join the carol singalong at the church at 7 p.m. At 6:30 there is a fireworks show. Christmas in the Country is on from 12:30 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. This is a free event at Westfield giving you insight into Christmas as it would have been celebrated in the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian eras.
