HAMILTON OLYMPIC CLUB <bullet> Athletics Ontario Youth/Senior Championship Meet in Toronto. In the youth category, Alec Purnell set an indoor best of 51.65 sec in winning gold medal in 400 m race. Daunte Henriques took bronze medal in the 60 m dash in a time of 7.19 sec on Saturday, then returned Sunday to earn silver medal in 200 m with a time of 23.05 sec. Also running well in 200 m race were Randy Tshikuna with a time of 23.94 sec, Marqus Rookwood going 24.25 sec and Eric Justason 24.62 sec. Simon Black took home silver medal in the weight throw with a toss of 16.09 m. His indoor best, with the new ‘rotational’ technique, of 12.59 m was good for fifth place in shot put event. Running up an age group, Jasmine Buckridge participated in senior women’s category. She came sixth in 800 m with a time of 2:26.40 and seventh in 1500 m with 5:04.28. The midget-aged Ontario vs. Québec dual meet was held as part of Saturday’s competition. Nifaiya Robinson took control in the 300 m race, winning gold with his time of 37.30 sec.
