Hamilton man charged after police seize crystal meth

-

A Hamilton man is facing charges after police seized more than 23 grams of crystal meth over the weekend.

Two ACTION officers were called to the area of the Hamilton Inn Motel at 1870 Main St. W., after being tipped off that two men with outstanding arrest warrants were there around 6 p.m. Sunday.

After finding the men and arresting them, police found crystal meth with an estimated street value of more than $3,400 that was packaged in a way “consistent with drug trafficking,” police said in a news release.

As a result, Todd Gard, 45, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking crystal methamphetamine, four counts of breach of probation and three counts of breach of recognizance.

A warrant was executed for 29year-old Bradley Elsliger from Hamilton for failing to comply with probation.

Both men had their bail opposed and are expected before the courts to answer to the charges.

Police are asking anyone who suspects criminal activities within their neighbourhood to submit tips at crimestoppershamilton.com.
