HAMILTON OLYMPIC CLUB Ontario Masters Athletics indoor championship meet, W30 Kristen Matthews had two personal best performances. Matthews broke high jump meet record by 25cm as she cleared bar at 1.60m to take gold. Later, she leaped 4.11m to claim gold, in long jump event. Athletics Ontario indoor championship meet, midget boys 300m, Nifaiya Robinson ran 37.74sec for gold. 200m Robinson ran 23.54sec for the silver. Also competing was Declan Sutherland-Case who set two personal bests in running 40.19sec for seventh in the 300m and 25.30sec for eighth in the 200m. Daniel Andric placed fourth and set a personal best of 12.12m in the midget boys 16lb weight throw. On day one of the meet, in the junior boys 60m dash, Daunte Henriques had to run two qualifying rounds before finishing with 7.21sec and eighth place. Meanwhile, Christian Janzen came close to his PB as he threw 15.71m with the 25lb weight for sixth spot. Competing against boys up to two years older, Alec Purnell set an indoor best of 1:58.05 as he came fifth in the 800m race, while Owen Opie (2:01.88) followed closely behind; while Nathaniel Leighninger (2:15.18) and Malcolm Green (2:15.94) duelled it out in a separate heat. Junior Girls action saw Cree Bell post a personal best of 26.25sec as she took eighth place in junior girls 200m event.
