Thousands of events are held annually throughout the world to celebrate International Women’s Day and to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women’s craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and more. EVENTS SUCCESS IN THE CITY
March 8 from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Carmen’s Banquet Centre Hamilton’s premier networking event for women. The event will be hosted by Jeanne Beker, Canadian journalist, media personality and fashion entrepreneur and includes a feature address by Rosita Hall networking, tradeshow and a business and entrepreneurship panel. Presented by the Halton Region Small Business Centre March 8 from 7:45 to 11:30 a.m. OE Banquet Hall & Conference Centre The event addresses the various expectations and needs of women entrepreneurs at different stages of their careers. $35/per person (breakfast included) halton.ca/businesswomen 2017 WOMEN OF DISTINCTION AWARDS CELEBRATING OVER 40 YEARS March 9 - 5 p.m. Hamilton Convention Center by Carmen’s YWCA Hamilton’s Women of Distinction Awards recognize outstanding women and organizations who are committed to the development of other women and to the overall improvement of the community. The Women of Distinction Awards are nationally recognized as one of the most prestigious awards for women. Tickets are $100 each. www.ywcahamilton.org/events
THE 14TH ROTARY CLUB OF ANCASTER AM FASHION SHOW –
Party in White Presented by the Rotary Club of Ancaster AM May 24, doors open at 6 p.m. Michelangelo Banquet Centre, 1555 Upper Ottawa St. The proceeds from this year’s “Party in White” themed show will go for the development of a Pediatric Therapeutic Mental Health Courtyard at McMaster Children’s Hospital as well as to other Rotary charities. “Party In White” will be a fun filled evening of glamour and excitement!
