Speed, alcohol suspected factors in fatal Ancaster crash

Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in a single-vehicle crash in Ancaster Tuesday night that killed a 44-year-old man.

He was killed after the Ford pickup truck he was driving crashed, landing in a ditch, on Indian Trail near Lynden Road around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.

“The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruc­tion Unit continues to investigat­e the cause of the collision, however, speed and alcohol are believed to be factors,” said Supt. Will Mason.

Hamilton police have not released the man’s name. It is the sixth fatal crash in Hamilton this year.
