Consider nursing home visits

RE: Hospital overcrowding

-

Why can’t someone think outside the box on this matter? If there is no room in the hospital to service patients with simple problems, and we currently have a Telelhelp program, why not access the services of many registered nurses to make house calls? A registered nurse or nurse practitioner could very quickly assess the severity of the problem, either issue a simple prescription or suggest appropriate followup with a family doctor. If the patient needs to go to the hospital, that could be decided by the nurse, and the basic information would already be recorded. It just might work. Jacqueline Stoddart, Burlington
