Father’s Day is around the corner, and that means time is running out to find a gift for the special dad in your life.

To help you with your gift-giving predicament, we rounded up a list of kid-friendly crafts that are guaranteed to be a hit with Dad. From comic book-themed coasters to rest his drink on during the big game to homemade aftershave meant to keep his skin feeling great, here are four easy gift ideas worth making.

Building blocks of love

Remind Dad of all the wonderful weekends you’ve spent playing with Lego together by making him his very own Lego tie pin. Using only three items, this easy-to-assemble gift is the perfect way to help him keep you close to his heart no matter where he goes. You will need: Tie tack pin Hot-glue gun Lego To make it: Apply hot glue to flat side of tie tack pin. Carefully press Lego against glue to adhere.

So fresh and clean

Even someone as handsome as Dad needs help with his grooming regimen.

This Father’s Day, you can ensure that he always looks great by whipping up a batch of homemade aftershave. Made with all-natural ingredients, the soothing product offers a refreshing finish. You will need: ¼ cup solid coconut oil 15 drops eucalyptus essential oil 10 drops Valor essential oil (or a combination of black spruce, blue tansy and frankincense oils)

5 drops blue spruce essential oil 2 drops peppermint essential oil Container (to store it in) To make it: In a bowl, combine all five oils and mix well. Spoon aftershave into container, then refrigerate to firm for one to two hours. To use, apply to freshly shaven skin.

Get in the game

Why not encourage more quality time together by gifting Dad a set of handmade dominoes? They’re customized to reflect his favourite colours, so he will love knowing that you put so much thought into creating each tile. You will need: 28 blank wooden dominoes Craft paint Foam craft brush Permanent marker Small bag with drawstring (to store) To make it: Paint dominoes on one side, then let dry for 30 minutes. Repeat on other side. If needed, apply a second coat. Use permanent marker to draw designated dots on each domino. (Tip: For reference, we used an internet image of a double-six domino set.) Let dry overnight, then store in drawstring bag.
