Man charged with forcible confinement, assault

Hamilton police have charged a 31year-old man with assault, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and two counts of breach of probation after an assault investigation that began Friday.

The investigation prompted an increased police presence in the Ontario Avenue-Main Street East area.

The man, whose identity had not been released, was arrested and charged at 7 a.m., Sunday. He is being held for a bail hearing, and the investigation is still ongoing.
