HAMILTON OLDTIMERS’ BASEBALL ORGANIZATI­ON The Dodgers held off a furious rally by the A’s to post a 17-16 victory. Rob Whitenect, with a double and triple, and Ron Bocock and Doug Jackson, with two hits and three RBIs apiece, led the Dodgers at the plate. Mike Fazari, Brian Avery and Brian Fraser each had two hits and two RBIs for the Dodgers. Ted Pritchard, Allan Agnew and Mike Parisi banged out three hits apiece in a losing effort for the A’s, with Pritchard driving in three runs and Agnew and Parisi each driving in a pair. Tom McGrattan had a three-run double for the A’s. Meanwhile, Steven McClure and Keith Howard chipped in with two hits apiece. HAMILTON FOOTBALL ASSOCIATIO­N Bantam Tiger-Cats defeated the London Jr Mustangs in post-season play on July 29, at Ron Joyce Stadium, 20-13 to capture the Ontario Provincial Football League Western Division Conference Final.

HAMILTON HORNETS RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB Hamilton senior men held off the Niagara Wasps for 25 minutes before the scoring deluge. The score was 28-0 at halftime but The Hornets didn’t give up. Jeff Dowhan touched down the lone try and Will Redgate kicked the convert. The final score was 73-7.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS Hamilton Special Olympics is looking for athletes and volunteers for 13 sports. Special Olympics is an organizati­on for individual­s with intellectu­al disabiliti­es to promote opportunit­ies to develop physical fitness, demonstrat­e courage, experience joy, and develop skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community. COACHING HAMILTON SMASH VOLLEYBALL CLUB The club is seeking assistant and potential head coaches for the 20172018 indoor season. Coaches are expected to attend practices twice a week, occasional weekend tournament­s and be willing to develop their coaching skills through ongoing educationa­l opportunit­ies. A passion for working with youth, organizati­onal abilities and leadership are a must. Previous experience playing volleyball and coaching youth sports is a definite plus.
