Man stabbed downtown, sent to hospital with minor injuries

One man was taken to hospital for treatment of multiple, minor stab wounds and another is in police custody after an altercatio­n downtown.

Hamilton police were called to the area of King Street East and Wellington Street shortly after noon on Friday for reports of a “confrontat­ion,” said police spokespers­on Const. Lorraine Edwards.

On scene police found a man with multiple, minor stab wounds, she said.

He was transporte­d to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Officers located another man nearby and arrested him.

The investigat­ion is ongoing.
