Unifor donates after Hurricane Irma
FOR THE RECORD
Unifor’s Social Justice Fund has donated $500,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to provide on-the-ground aid in Antigua, Barbuda, Cuba and the Dominican Republic following Hurricane Irma.
The donation is to help provide basic necessities to people in the Caribbean whose homes, schools, workplaces and communities were destroyed by the storm.
In the past, Unifor has partnered with the Canadian Red Cross to provide relief after disasters including the New Brunswick ice storms, flood relief in Quebec and the Atlantic and the BC wildfires.
