The Hamilton-based alt-folk trio quickly sold out one show (Friday) at Mills Hardware, 95 King St. E., and added a second on Thursday, Nov. 9, 8 p.m. with Odd Years. Elliott Brood — Mark Sasso, Casey Laforet and Stephen Pitkin — is touring its album “Ghost Gardens” on Paper Bag Records. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.

TIMBER TIMBRE

Toronto/Montreal art-rock group Timber Timbre’s new Arts & Crafts album “Sincerely, Future Pollution” portrays a gothic cinematic dystopia filled with eerie synthesize­rs and ominous beats. Timber Timbre performs Friday, Nov. 10, 8:30 p.m., at the Collective Arts Brewery, 207 Burlington St. E., with Boyhood. Tickets are $25 available in advance through ticketfly.com.

TRENT SEVERN

Trent Severn is the combined talents of three talented singer-songwriter­s — Lindsay Schindler, Dayna Manning and Emm Gryner. Their songs have a distinctly Canadian flavour. ALFIE SMITH & NICOLE CHRISTIAN

Hamilton’s Alfie Smith and his partner Nicole Christian (a native New Yorker) are representi­ng the Western N.Y. Blues Society at the 2018 Internatio­nal Blues Challenge in Memphis. They are holding a fundraiser to help get them there Friday, Nov. 10, 8 p.m., at the Bay City Music Hall, with Alicia House. $10 admission.

SOUL MOTIVATORS

The gritty deep-funk of the Soul Motivators has become a favourite at This Ain’t Hollywood and the Toronto-based band is returning Friday, Nov. 10, for its eighth appearance at the Hamilton club (345 James St. N.). They’ll be playing new tracks from their upcoming album. A good place to stop after the Art Crawl. Doors open 9:30 p.m. $10 advance. $15 at the door.
