Man hit by car on York Blvd. in critical condition
A 21-year-old Hamilton man has been identified as the pedestrian struck on York Boulevard Wednesday morning.
Hamilton police say they’ve notified family and the young man remains in critical condition in hospital.
He suffered serious head injuries after being hit by a westbound car on York near the Hamilton Cemetery around 6 a.m. Police said he was hit after stepping off the north-side curb.
The car’s driver stopped, called 911 and offered medical assistance until first responders arrived. Speed and alcohol were not factors.
The crash closed York for several hours between Dundurn Street North and Plains Road West.
The collision reconstruction unit is investigating.
