City Hall

City of Hamilton administrative offices are closed Dec. 25 to Jan. 1. Burlington City Hall is closed Dec. 25 to Jan. 1. Offices re-open on Jan. 2. No garbage day on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Garbage pickup will be delayed by a day for the next two weeks. In Hamilton, real Christmas tree pickup is during the weeks of Jan. 8 and 15. Remove decorations before placing the tree at the curb.

Recreation

Libraries

Transportation

HSR — Christmas Eve will follow a regular Sunday schedule; Christmas Day, special holiday schedule with limited bus service until 9 p.m.; Boxing Day follows a Saturday schedule; New Year’s Eve runs on a Sunday schedule with extended hours on most routes, bus service is free after 6 p.m.; and New Year’s Day is a Sunday/holiday schedule. Weekday service Dec. 26 to 30 Burlington’s Downtown Transit Terminal is closed Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1. Transit service will run until 8 p.m. Christmas Eve; no service Christmas Day; Boxing Day follows the Saturday schedule; regular service returns Dec. 27; Sunday service with extended hours to 2 a.m. Dec. 31; no service Jan. 1. Museums

Hamilton civic museums are closed Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1. The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum closes early, 2 p.m., on Dec. 24; it’s closed Dec. 25-26.

Canada Post

Post offices are closed and there is no delivery Dec. 25, 26 or Jan. 1. LCBO stores close at 5 or 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve (stores vary). Stores will be closed Dec. 25-26. The same hours apply for the Beer Store.

Ontario Works

Ontario Works government offices are closed Dec. 25 to Jan. 1.
