The number of NHL games played by the newest member of the Windsor Spitfires coaching staff. Former Buffalo Sabres defenceman Mike Weber was announced as an assistant coach Wednesday. The 30-year-old Pittsburgh native was forced to hang up his skates earlier this season after injuring his knee while playing professionally in Sweden. Weber also played 201 games for the Spits, which he captained in 2006-07.

2

The number of goaltenders named OHL player of the week so far this season, including Jeremy Helvig. The Kingston Frontenacs veteran posted three wins last weekend, with a goals-against average of 1.63, a save percentage of 0.942 and a shutout. Windsor Spitfires goaltender Michael DiPietro is the only other puck stopper to earn the weekly honour, which he did back in September. Helvig was also named CHL goaltender of the week.

21

The number of points racked up by Kitchener Rangers Logan Brown, Adam Mascherin and Kole Sherwood in just two outings last weekend. The line, which was assembled in the wake of the trade deadline (Brown was acquired from the Spitfires), combined for eight goals and 13 assists in back-to-back wins over Saginaw and Flint.

6

The number of straight wins registered by the Rangers — the longest winning streak in the league heading into the weekend. The Mississauga Steelheads are on their heels with four in a row, followed by the Frontenacs, North Bay Battalion and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds each with three. The Petes, meanwhile, own the longest losing streak at six games.

8

The number of shootout rounds it took for North Bay to complete a 4-3 comeback win over the Niagara IceDogs Sunday. Only three of the 16 shooters scored in the skills contest, including North Bay’s Adam Thilander and Niagara’s Kirill Maksimov. Brandon Coe fired the winning shot.

14

The number of OHL graduates who took part in last weekend’s NHL all-star festivities in Florida, including Connor McDavid, who won the faster skater challenge, and Alex Pietrangelo, who won the passing event. Meanwhile, Rickard Rakell and Drew Doughty both tallied to lead the Pacific Division to a win in the three-on-three championship final. Mike Smith, Brent Burns, James Neal, P.K. Subban, Eric Staal, Tyler Seguin, Patrick Kane, Taylor Hall, John Tavares, Josh Bailey and Steven Stamkos round out the list of former OHLers.

4,181,300

The number of people collectively following those 14 players on Twitter. At 1,100,000, Subban easily has the biggest audience, while Rakell has the smallest at 16,200. Three players — Bailey, Smith and Staal — appear to be eschewing the social media platform entirely. I, a lowly Hamilton Spectator scribe, have 2,800 — the least of the bunch.
