ON THE LANES

After Art Oliver Jr. was asked why he had not added to his Hamilton leading 22 perfect games and ten 800 triples with only a high game of 288, he responded in a big way with a pair of 300 games and an 800 triple at Skyway Lanes. Perfect game number 23 was followed by 286, 212 and 266 for a 798 triple and 1064 set. Then after 235 and 265 games, he needed another 300 for an even 800 triple, so he did roll the 300 game for the even 800. Then a 213 for a 1013 set.

Tim Robertson, 192 average, used games of 209, 244 and 256 for a 709 scratch triple, and 853 with handicap for a 27 pin victory over Rob May and his pair of 257 games for a 706 triple and a handicap total of 826 in the annual association tournament. Sean Bailey’s 727 (269, 255) triple placed him third at 817. High scratch game was a 279 by Mike Scargall. Claiming the doubles title were Tracy Murdoch and Jamie Martin with 1598 and a one pin victory over Chris Gaymer and Billy Craig. The top team was Royal LePage with John Manel, John Stenekes, Ian Colby and Ron Smith who won by 116 pins over the Lickity Splits. The all events top money went to Tracy Murdoch with scratch triples of 486, 539 & 453 for a 2297 handicap total and a 17 pin margin over Mike Scargall with his 647, 600 & 601 triples. Tim Robertson was third, Rob May fourth & Justin Francis fifth.
